Why the library exists
Looking Beyond Behaviour
Dogs are often described by the behaviour people find difficult:
Naughty. Stubborn. Dominant. Aggressive. Difficult. Attention seeking.
These labels can quickly become conclusions.
The Movement Library encourages a different starting point.
What is happening around the behaviour?
What is the dog communicating?
What may be influencing the dog’s ability to cope?
What might change if we consider health, emotion, previous experience, environment and relationships?
Looking deeper does not mean ignoring risk or excusing harmful behaviour. It means understanding situations more carefully so responses can become safer, fairer and more effective.

About Ange
Created by Ange Rowland
Seeing Dogs Differently was founded by Ange Rowland, a qualified canine behaviour practitioner and dog trainer whose work has been deeply influenced by living with and supporting dogs experiencing complex behaviour.
Her professional background includes canine behaviour, aggression, reactivity, family dog mediation, dog-bite prevention education and more than twenty years working within the care sector.
The Movement Library brings together professional knowledge, lived experience and the lessons that came from sharing life with Zeus.
